In long conversations, I lose my thread less often.

I will be direct: I am not sure what I am feeling. And that is exactly why I am writing this now, at week 3, instead of waiting until I have a definitive opinion. Because most nootropic reviews come after the fact, when people have already decided what they think. I prefer to note things as I go.

What I take and why

Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus), 1000mg per day, in the morning with breakfast. I started because I was reading a lot about neuroplasticity and NGF (Nerve Growth Factor). Several studies on older adults show improved cognition. On ADHD specifically, there is almost nothing. I am testing it anyway.

Week 1: nothing

Nothing at all. No noticeable effect. No side effects either, which is already information. I am noting it and continuing.

Week 2: maybe something

I had the impression of finding my words faster in conversations. It is vague, I know. Usually when someone talks to me for a while, there comes a point where my brain drifts and I lose the word I wanted to say. That happened less often this week. But it could be plenty of other things: better sleep, less stress at work, simple variation.

Week 3: where I stand

The impression about conversations is holding. In long exchanges, I lose my thread less often. It is subtle. It is not like Ritalin where the effect is obvious. It is as if the fog was a tiny bit less dense on some days.

On work focus: no notable change. On task initiation: nothing either. On sleep: nothing.

Week 3 · provisional verdict

Too early to conclude. Something might be happening with verbal fluency, but I cannot attribute it with certainty. I will come back in 5 weeks with more perspective.
