Films and documentaries
Few films deal with ADHD directly. The ones I list here are either documentaries on the subject, or films where I recognized myself in a character. It's subjective.
ADHD: Not Just for Kids
"Short documentary on adult ADHD. Nothing revolutionary, but a good resource if you want to explain to someone in your life what it is. More effective than a 2-hour conversation."
Take Your Pills
"About performance culture and stimulants in the US. Not specifically about ADHD, and sometimes a bit sensationalist. But it raises important questions about what we expect from our brains."
The Disruptors
"Documentary about ADHD in children and adults. Families telling their daily reality. I cried. Not because it's sad, but because it was the first time I saw people describe exactly what I was living, on video."
Limitless (fiction)
"Total fiction. But if you have ADHD, you've thought at least once: 'what if a pill could unlock my brain.' This film plays on exactly that fantasy. Entertaining, not educational."
